After the sudden deaths of her husband and child, heir to the Winchester rifle fortune Sarah Winchester begins to believe she is cursed by the family legacy. She is instructed to build the mansion by a spiritualist medium, to appease the spirits. Sarah begins 38 years of construction on a 24,000 square foot, 160-room Gothic mansion and never stops building.
