In a digitally connected world, a family in the witness protection program is placed in the custody of a state-of-the-art autonomous "smart house." When a group of assassins locates the family, the smart house goes into a lethal defense mode.

When two unrelated deaths happen on a college campus, a betting pool is set up to figure out who will die next, because deaths always come in threes (similar to that celebrity death myth). However, when a student wins the pool, murderous consequences merge.

The story revolves around a soldier who returns home from a tour of duty in Iraq only to be haunted by visions of the dead.
