Set in a world run by computer, Finn, a 17-year old, is a prisoner in Incarceron. He is determined to escape the prison fashioned centuries ago as a solution to the chaos created by man. Claudia, the warden's daughter, lives sequestered in a castle surrounded by servants. But she, too, longs for escape—from a father who frightens her and from betrothal to an insipid prince. Finn and Claudia each discover a crystal key and are amazed to find that they can communicate with each other. As their trust in one another builds, each pledges to help the other.

Imaginary friends of children are actually very real and an organization titled I.M.A.G.I.N.E., handles things when these figments get out of control. A jaded 20-year veteran agent must mentor a young archivist, with a routine day becoming something much larger.

The Young Postman's days are numbered. Estranged from his family and living alone with only his cat, Cabbage, to keep him company, he is unprepared for the doctor's diagnosis that he has only months to live. Before he can tackle his bucket list, the devil shows up to make him an offer: In exchange for making one thing in the world disappear, the postman will be granted one extra day of life beginning a very strange week that brings the young postman and his beloved cat to the brink of existence. With each object that disappears, the postman reflects on the life he's lived, his joys and regrets, and the people he's loved and lost.
