Overqualified and undervalued, Rita is a lawyer at a large firm that is more interested in getting criminals off the hook than bringing them to justice. One day, she is given an unexpected way out, when cartel leader Manitas hires her to help him withdraw from his business and realize a plan he has been secretly preparing for years: to become the woman he has always dreamt of being.

As an imminent construction project looms over their beloved small-town baseball field, a pair of New England Sunday league teams face off for the last time over the course of a day. Tensions flare up and ceremonial laughs are shared as an era of camaraderie and escapism fades into an uncertain future.

The film tells the story of four friends who believe that the key to winning over their true loves is to place themselves in extreme situations. They plot a fake kidnapping, but the plan goes awry when the kidnappers turn out to be ex-cons with plans of their own.

While on the road hawking lipstick, she accidentally kills a couple of Elvis impersonators and ends up on the run from the FBI. So, in an unlikely coincidence, does a depressed advertising executive whose path intersects romantically with hers as the pair head toward the pic's climax at an Elvis convention in Las Vegas.
