Jon Moore, a former CIA analyst and mercenary spy on the run, is protected only by the mysterious "Jake Ellis," a man seemingly invisible to everyone except Jon, but who has a unique knowledge of tradecraft that Jon desperately.
Jeremy Cabbage, a young orphan, feels stuck at Harpwitch's Home for Mean Dogs, Ugly Cats, and Stray Children, where the canines are treated better than the kids. Jeremy's only chance is a good adoption, and when that fails, he finds himself on an outrageous adventure out on the city streets.
